How to Make Airport Security Easy When Traveling with Kids

Traveling with young children can be challenging—especially when it comes to airport security checkpoints. Now, TSA has made travel easier for families by offering dedicated family lanes designed specifically for parents and kids. The new program is called, "Families on the Fly."

If you’re traveling with children aged 12 and under, these special lanes are meant to help you breeze through security with less stress. By providing family-friendly lanes, TSA not only recognizes the unique needs of traveling families but also helps reduce congestion in other security lines. This means a smoother, quicker process for everyone.

Some airports have already implemented these lanes including Orlando International Airport (FL), Charleston International Airport (SC),Charlotte Douglas International Airport (NC), John Wayne Airport (CA) and Salt Lake City International Airport (UT).

Also, don't forget... When an adult has the TSA PreCheck® indicator on their boarding pass, children aged 17 and under can also enjoy TSA PreCheck benefits—without needing their own Known Traveler Number (KTN)!

At Kingdom Destinations, we know a relaxed start to your trip sets the tone for the entire journey. When booking your next family adventure, keep an eye out for airports with these family lanes—they’re a small change that can make a big difference!
