5 Things We Love about Super Nintendo World

Updated: Sep 9, 2023

In early 2023, the highly anticipated Super Nintendo World opened at Universal Studios Hollywood. Designed in collaboration with Nintendo, this immersive and interactive themed land brings the iconic characters, worlds, and games from the Nintendo universe to life.

Check out the 5 things we love about Super Nintendo World!

1. Immersive theming

The most impressive aspect of the new land is the vibrant colors and attention to detail that transports guests directly into the world of a Super Nintendo video game.

The land is designed to replicate the iconic settings from various Nintendo games and features a combination of real-life environments and state-of-the-art technology.

We loved seeing familiar sights like Princess Peach's Castle, Piranha Plants, Power-up Mushrooms, Warp Pipes and other recognizable elements.

2. Interactive Games

It’s no surprise that a land centered around video games is filled with interactive games and experiences.

Guests are encouraged to purchase a Power Up Band which allows them to interact with the land through various tap points and games so they can collect virtual coins.

Completion of the land’s 3 “mini-games” is tracked in each guest’s Universal Studios app and permits them to enter Bowser Jr.’s hideout where a final challenge of winning back the Golden Mushroom takes place.

3. Toadstool Cafe

At Toadstool Cafe, guests can indulge in Chef Toad’s tasty dishes and watch the playful scenery of the Mushroom Kingdom through the windows. The food is surprisingly appetizing and the presentation and theming are absolutely adorable.

4. Mario Kart: Bowser’s Challenge

Inside Bowser’s Castle is where you will find the land’s premier attraction, Mario Kart: Bowser’s Challenge.

This real-life Mario Kart ride is an indoor race track with visual components and video game capabilities that allows guests to earn points in the Universal Hollywood app.

Not only is the ride fun for the whole family, but the queue is quite impressive with tons of Easter eggs for the fans.

5. Character Meet and Greets

No theme park land would be complete without the opportunity to meet your favorite characters!

Guests can capture a fun photo moment with Mario and Luigi and meet up with Princess Peach in her enchanting gazebo.

If you or your family are fans of the Super Nintendo World entertainment, then you definitely need to add this theme park experience to your must-do list.

Before you visit, make sure you are well informed of how you can gain access to the land since there is still a high demand, especially during peak seasons.
